Zone Conference and Voting Day

Mon., 4/23/2018 (Loma Plata)

Well it's been another fast week! Monday we had our interviews with Pte Evans, which are always great. We talked about Loma Plata, the District, and a lot of other things. Tuesday we had Zone Conference, and the mission will be getting text messaging! Now those that served their missions with real technology may be laughing right now, but it is going to help us a LOOOOOOOOOOOT. Our mission here in Paraguay is changing. It's getting a lot more obedient, and getting a lot more work done, as we focus more on the Lord and less on ourselves. The Zone Conference was focused on us finding and following the guidance of the Holy Ghost, which is so important in missionary work. After the conference we went and street contacted people in Luque, using a survey on people's beliefs in God. It was a fun experience.

We then came back to the Chaco and worked all week. On Sunday they had voting day in Paraguay. Apparently the attendance at church was very low in the whole country. We just had 3 people in total, us 2 missionaries and our investigator Esteban. He is 10 years old and CAME 5 KM ON A BIKE ALONE to church. So I think that leaves us all with no excuses! We also made some mbeyu with a family of investigators. We didn't know how to make it and I guess they didn't really either, so instead of a bread-like food, it turned out like thick rubbery tortilla hahaha! It's the thought that counts!

In studies this week I read a great story from the life of Christ, which is in Matthew 19, where a young man wanted to follow him. Christ gave the instruction to give all and follow him. Not willing, the young man left, crying. Don't be like the young man! Give up everything to Christ and He'll help you in everything!

Thank you for the prayers, emails and photos! I love you all!

PS sorry no photos, I'll try to forward my companion's. (My computer cable doesn't work.)
